Madness? This...is...OVERRATED!!!!

Like your blood digital and unrealistic? Like your slow motion to be constant? Like your story to be inconsistent? Then "300" is your kind of movie! Why is this one of the most popular graphic novel adaptations of all time? Either I mised the point or people forget what it takes to make a successful movie. All I can tell is that "300" did not live up to what it was supposed to be.It's a hyper-violent and digital bloodfest that lacks that spark that usually makes director Zach Snyder's films such great spectacles. When I say 'digital bloodfest', you have no idea how un-realistic and un-convincing the blood looks.Pretty much about 95% of it is CG blood, and what a riot it is to NOT be convinced by such fakeness! What a shame, I even found Snyder's "Dawn of the Dead" remake filled with more convincing scenes, not to mention an actual story and character development. There's not much to talk about "300" when it comes to story, given that it's centered on 300 spartan warriors who kill lots and lots and LOTS of persians. You call that a story? As for interesting characters, the only would is Leonadis played by Gerard Butler, who's backstory when he was a child is pretty much the closest thing to character development that this movie has to offer.

Excuse me if it sounds like I'm hating on this movie when I'm just getting the bad things out of the way. With that said, I must give credit to Snyder for making a well-shot and good looking movie that features some well-handlede battle sequences.Unfortantly, the battle scenes are boggled down by unconvincing gore effects and the over-use of slow motion.Slo-mo was cool in 1999 when the original "Matrix" was released, but now it's starting to becoming just as much of a gimmick like the use of 3-D.In my opinion, I find "300" to be the weakest of Snyder's movies.Yes, I found the poorly reviewed "Sucker Punch" to be more entertaining, WAY more entertaining! Let's be clear about this and say that I didn't dislike "300".I was moderatly entertained, but that wasn't enough for me.If anything, this movie makes for a fun 2 hours when you have NOTHING to do.

Grade: B-
