Unlike anything you've ever seen...EVER!

James Cameron's "Avatar" is the best looking movie I have ever seen.It is a visually fantastic piece of cinema that thrills the mind like no other movie before. If you think you've seen better special effects, you don't deserve to be called a human being.Even Michael Bay couldn't afford the money to make his robots and explosions look as realistic as the blue aliens and scenery look in "Avatar", but it's not his fault that people hate him, where they prefer James Cameron, one of the most visual directors of our time. It's from the same man who directed the first 2 and best "Terminator" films and managed to make the biggest film of all time, "Titanic". Fans of Cameron's work shouldn't be un-impressed, because they know what to expect from a James Cameron movie. It has special effects, an interesting story, some famous actors, and an exciting climax.Expect these things from "Avatar", don't expect something out of the minds of George Lucas or Steven Spielberg.

The film's central character is Jake Sully (Sam Worthington). He is a paraplegic ex-marine who is given one of the most unique oppurtunities of all time.He is offered to step into his dead brother's shoes to join the Avatar program. The goal of the program is to try to convinve the alien inhabitants, the Na'vi, to allow Marines to drill into their land for a special mineral that costs a lot of money. In order to do this, Jake and other people who are a part of the program must step into a tanning bed-like machine where they let their minds go blank and they suddenly wake up in new bodies, Na'vi bodies. As Jake tries to become a part of the tribe in order to get them out of their home village before the drilling of their land starts, he begins to question his reality. When he wakes up in the machine, he barely remembers who he is anymore. This causes more serious conflicts between the humans and the Na'vi.

A LOT of people have been complaining that the plot of this film is similar to plots of movies like "Dancing With Wolves" and "Pocahantas". Those people obviously don't understand the mechanics of film-making.Even if it's familiar, James Cameron handles the story in a way where the actors and CGI roll into one big, dazzling picture.Every actor/actress in this film is great, whether it's Sam Worthington, Sigourney Weaver, or Stephen Lang.Is "Avatar" a perfect movie or a cinematic masterpiece, I don't think so.However, what you get is an awesome way to spend 3 hours looking at the most dazzling special effects you'll ever lay your eyes on.Cameron knows how to make a good movie, and "Avatar" reigns as his most beautiful and exciting one to date!

Grade: A-
