You don't have to be a grown up to find this movie a bit of a mess.

I like Adam Sandler and Kevin James. They're 2 of my favorite comedian actors.Kevin James scores big laughs in his show "King of Queens" and Adam Sandler proves to be really entertaining in most of his movies. They're not the only 2 talented people in this movie. You have Chris Rock from "Death At a Funeral", Rob Schneider from the "Deuce Bigalow" movies, and even Steve Buscemi from "Reservoir Dogs". The cast isn't exactly wasted in this mildly entertaining movie, but I can't say I loved the characters like I wanted to.I pretty much found Kevin James to be one of the most entertaining characters in the whole movie. It's a shame Adam Sandler didn't capture my attention throughout. His best performances was in "Funny People", but this may be his least entertaining one.He isn't bad at all, he just didn't stand out as well as I wanted him to.

The movie wasn't really funny.I giggled in some parts, but I laughed harder and more constantly in "I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry".People didn't like that movie and they don't like this one either.I can somewhat understand why some people may not like this movie, but I find some of the people being a little harsh on it.It certainly isn't the extremely bad mess that some people are making it to be.One problem I had with the movie is that it just had to have a serious moment where the characters talk about what happened between themselves and their husbands/wives.That's where I found the movie a little weak. We've seen the feeling of that scene in so many other comedies and it felt really routined.Director Dennis Dugan has made some funny and entertaining movies.I liked " Big Daddy" and I found "Chuck & Larry" to be extremely underrated. Before this movie, I found Dugan's worst movie to be "You don't Mess With the Zohan".Maybe it's time for him to retire as a movie director and try something more simple like a television series."Grown Ups" is entertaining, but it'd be best to rent it instead of paying full price for a movie ticket or the dvd.

Grade: C+
