A visually thrilling ride that's even better looking on Blu-ray.

Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller (The writer of the comics this movie was base off) teamed together in 2005 to make "Sin City", one of the best looking over-the-top movies I've ever seen. The only version I've seen of the movie was the extended version, which i assume is totally different than the theatrical cut.hell, the extended cut is about 20 minutes longer, now THAT is an extended cut! If I ever get the chance, I should definetly view the original version, because the extended cut was only very good, not as much of a masterpiece as it was made out to be.Then again, it was the 2 hour version that was hailed as great, not the extended cut.I must still admit that I had a pretty good time watching "Sin City". It's a stylish, violent, over-the-top thrill ride that really isn't a movie, more like 4 different stories combined together to make a a really long miniseries episode.Just look up the 4 stories online, i don't want to release too much information.

I will admit which story is the best, the one starring Mickey Rourke. If the movie, let's just say, was mainly his movie and nobody else's, this would've been one hell of a great time, maybe even Rodriguez's best film.Since the other 3 stories are either really good/good and not exactly as awesome as Rourke's story, We're left with a good movie overall. The best thing about "Sin City" is the visual look of it.The CGI shots of the city zooming out or cars zipping through roads are just fantastic.Watch it on Blu-ray, you won't be dissapointed. If it's not the one of the best looking movies ever made, it's DEFINETLY the most gorgeous black-and-white movie ever made.Yes, it's that eye popping.I'm surprised the movie wasn't nominated for an Oscar for best...visual effects? Editing? Cinematography? Whatever, just know it's a great film to look at and that's the main reason you should watch this movie. The characters are all interesting and the stories are good, but you can't beat the visual style that Rodriguez and Miller put together.

Grade: B+
