This is proof why zombies and aliens should NEVER mix together.

"Undead" is an incoherent zombie movie that tries to stay in touch with the 1950's horror flicks by trying to be a little weird and entertaining at the same time, and the result is just plain weird and nothing else. One of the biggest dissapointments about the film is that it was directed by Michael and Peter Spierig, who directed the vampire flick "Daybreakers".It wasn't a masterpiece, but it sure as hell kept me interested. It's a shame that it can't be said for their first motion picture, "Undead".I've seen some great zombie movies, such as "28 Days Later", and I've seen some bad ones, such as this heaping pile of cow dung that I'm reviewing right now.

What I want to know is why would ANYONE think that mixing zombies and aliens would be a good idea.Thought provoking, hell no.Stupid, hell yes.It just doesn't work. It's like mixing Tyler Perry and Spike Lee to direct an action-packed romantic drama, it doesn't make sense! It's ideas like these that infuriate me at how some people think that these are actually good ideas to start with when they write the script.Of course, the movie would definetly make money, but that doesn't mean that it would be good.I have nothing wrong with mixing horror and science-fiction together.Take the original and classic "Alien" for example, or even "Predator".This simply falls dead on it's feet.Besides from the weak script, the movie also has a thing for bad acting and over-the-top characters. The movie tries to be funny in one scene where a cop is trying to defend himself from zombies, and when he reloads, he blurts out only God knows how many F-bombs.The movie wasn't even funny, and I'm pretty sure it was also trying to be a comedy.I was thinking about giving this movie a "C", but now I have made my case."Undead" is a zombie movie that doesn't have a single brain in it's dead head.Every zombie movie should be a little smart, just like "28 Days Later".Now I shall go off and forget that this movie ever existed.

Grade: C-
