Thumbs up for "Up".

Pixar may be one of the best movie studios of all time, and I don't mean just one of the best animation movie studios of all time. They started their career with animated shorts and then they moved on to make one of the most popular animated films of all time, "Toy Story".Since people liked "Toy story" so much, they probably would've figured to make more movies that they knew adults would love.As the years went by, the animation and the movies in general got better and better.I have not seen a bad film from Pixar yet. They're just too good."Up" is another great achievement. It honestly isn't my favorite Pixar movie and I don't love it as much as "Toy Story 3", but there's still some magic to be had here.Everything from the story to the characters to the animation is all just fascinating.Pixar has always been able to think of good stories for there movies.Never have I seen a boring plot coming from this studio.Talking about the plot for "Up" :

Carl Fredrickson is a 78 year old balloon salesman who wants to get away from it all. With the death of his wife, Carl remembers a pact that they both had when they were children, and that pact would be that Carl would ensure that he and his wife would travel to Paradise Falls in South America. To make things right and to keep his oath with his wife, Carl ties thousands of balloons to his house and sails away for Paradise Falls. All is good for Carl until he realizes that he has a passenger on board, an 8 year old boy scout Russell. The rest of the movie is filled with enough adventure and comedy to sustain the biggest "Indiana Jones" fan, and this is an animated movie we're talking about.

Pixar fans will not be disappointed, at least I hope they won't be.Why would they? This is a great movie that has lots of action and comedy and remains as one of Pixar's most unique movies, mainly because of the idea of tying thousands of balloons to a house and sailing to a different continent. In addition to being funny and exciting, "Up" is also surprisingly moving. The silent sequence that shows the marriage between Carl and his wife is one of the most beautiful and touching scenes I've ever seen in a Pixar film.So do yourself a favor and see "Up" if you haven't.I promise, you won't regret it.

Grade: A-
