Is Clint Eastwood destined for these type of movies?

"Blood Work" is a thriller driected by and starring Clint Eastwood that simply doesn't rank as one of his best movies.I've only seen a couple, but this doesn't exactly compare to something like "Million Dollar Baby".While the movie got either mixed or bad reviews, I honestly liked it.It's not a great film and defiently should've been better for the fact that it was directed by a director such as Eastwood, but there's still some solid entertainment to be had here.To start with the good things and end with the things that aren't so great, Eastwood gives a very solid and interesting story revolving around a retired FBI agent trying to track down a serial killer.Just like "Dirty Harry", Eastwood gives a pretty good performance as a cop trying to catch a killer.Even though Eastwood was in his 70's while filming, that doesn't stop him from doing what he does best, acting and directing.Good acting and story aside, there's a couple of things that aren't that great. They're not bad, but they defiently should've been better for a Clint Eastwood movie.I won't give too much away, but the setting for the last 10-15 minutes really didn't captivate me.i know the movie was based off of a novel, but Eastwood definetly could've improved the ending by making it happen at a location other than an abandoned ship.As for who the killer in the movie really was, it really didn't surprise me.I knew it would be someone that made an appearance in the film, so Eastwood definetly should've used a different character as the killer if he wanted to add a big twist. The ending and the predictable 'twist' are pretty much the only problems I've had with the film.If the film wasn't directed by Clint himself, the whole film could've been a mess, but he managed to save the film ffrom falling on it's foot by giving a solid story with interesting characters. It really doesn't come as a shock to know that this movie didn't recieve great reviews, because it's not a great movie, but it ain't bad.As a Clint Eastwood movie, it could've and should've been better. As a thriller, the movie is perfectly made.
