Saw 3D

A great addition with a mindblowing ending.
The "Saw" franchise has always appealed to me.Everything from the traps to the story always kept me entertained and the ending of every "Saw" movie would leave me wondering how the next installment would pick up after the previous installment. Now all the questions that evryone has been asking finally gets answered. It's true that this is indeed the last "Saw".It's been a nice run for one of the best horror franchises ever created, but every saga has to die sometimes. Will fans of the "saw" movies like the final chapter.I can't guarantee 100% that everyone who is a fan will enjoy it.The film recieved a shockingly low 9% on Rotten Tomatoes, making it the worst reviewed chapter in the series, but only on that site. Some people enjoyed the movie, and I share complete enthusiasm with them. The movie has it's pros and cons, so I'm just going to get the cons out of the way.
1. Some people complained that the acting and dialogue is a bit mediocre or just plain bad.I agree that the acting isn't that great, but the characters played their roles well enogh to keep me interested in them
2. "Saw 3D" runs at about 90 minutes, which makes sense why it felt a little short. The unrated version should definetly be at LEAST 2-3 minutes longer.
3. The 3-D doesn't bring anything to the table.I can understand that they wanted to make the final installment different than the others by doing something they've never done, but 3-D is a gimmick for movies like these.
That's pretty much all of the cons I could think of.If you can handle so-so acting, short running times, and unnecessary 3-D effects, you probably won't mind "Saw 3D".With that out of the way, I'm now going to talk about the good stuff.
1. The traps are a gift from "Saw" heaven.Everything from the garage trap to the public trap was just fantastic and creative.
2.The gore is amped up, making it the most gruesome and violent "Saw" movie to date.
3.The ending gave me a "Holy sh*t!" feeling and left my jaw dropped. This is the best ending to a "Saw" movie ever, even better than the ending to the very original.
4.Most of the characters were pretty interesting.Widow Jill Tuck kept me interested and Jigsaw "survivor" Bobby Dagen was a'ight, but Hoffman has made his career debut.Hoffman fans will find themselves going "Oh crap!" to whatever Hoffman does, especially in the final 15 minutes.
There you have it."Saw 3D" is not only a great "Saw" movie in general, but it also stands alone as a good movie. The acting is the worst part of the movie, but the traps and the unforgettable ending made me realize that this is one of the best movies in the "Saw" franchise.
Grade: B+
