A violent and profane piece of solid entertainment.

There are a couple of preposterous reasons why some people might dislike this movie. It's mostly the content. The movie is loaded to the barrel with the F-bomb and the violence is strong and sometimes extreme. Is this the reason why this movie only got a 40% on Rotten Tomatoes and a C- by the critics? Were these people not ready for a hard-R movie.I may be one of the few people who actually took the content seriously and actually watched the movie instead of complaining about the language and violence. What kind of reason is that to not like a movie? Martin Scorsese's "Casino" used the f-bomb over 4oo times and the violence was pretty graphic in some parts, yet most people loved it but they didn't love this movie.I know it's not "Casino", but I thought it was the gritty content that made this movie entertaining. Some people just don't know how to enjoy a good movie.

Joey Gazelle (Paul Walker) is put in charge of disposing a gun that was involved in a shootout between a mob and the police. He puts the gun away under the basement floor, only to realize later that the boy next door stole it and shot his abusive, John Wayne loving father. He runs to the house to find the father still alive and discovers that the boy is gone.He then goes on a sort of quest to find, not the boy, but the gun.If the police or the Russian mob manages to get their hands on the gun, Joey's screwed.

You gotta admit that that's a pretty interesting plot. What makes it entertaining is that it's simply and pretty much easy to follow.Sometimes the gun ends up in the wrong hands and it's just suspenseful wondering if Joey will ever get his hands on the gun before the police and Russians do.Again with the content, I know it isn't a healthy choice to use the word 'F*ck* over 300 times but it's what makes the movie realistic. It made me care about the danger of the situation Paul Walker's character was in and it really grabbed my interest.Add in a twist of an ending and a great performance by Vera Farmiga and you have a well-acted thriller that's both suspenseful and entertaining.
