The Other Guys

Need help? There's... The Other Guys!!!
About 2 hours ago, I came out of seeing Adam McKay's "The Other Guys".I think that he is a good director.he's made the entertaining "Tallaega Nights" and the cheerfully funny "Step Brothers".Is this his best film? I'm going to be honest and say that the film wasn't quite as good as I was hoping it to be.It's entertaining and amusing as an Adam McKay film should be, but I would prefer to watch "Step Brothers".Hey, it's still a good movie. There are some pretty good laughs here and Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlburg make one hell of a great duo.In addition to having clever comedy, the film also manages to have some pretty good action sequences. The one in the first 3 minutes would probably be the best one.
Those who wanted a better plot than "Cop Out" will definitely get a better plot than "Cop Out". Allen Gamble (Ferrell) and Terry Hoitz (Wahlburg) are two detectives who don't exactly live the cop life they would want. When two detectives played by Samuel L. Jackson and Dwayne Johnson fall to their hilarious death, Allen and Terry find this the perfect opportunity to stand up and actually be good detectives. It's sounds like it would work, but everything doesn't go quite according to plan.
The reason I would prefer "Step Brothers" or even "Talladega Nights" over "The Other Guys" is the fact that those 2 movies are much simpler than this one.The plot is confusing, but it deals with more serious things that McKay's previous films didn't involve.Despite the plot being just a little complicated compared to something like "Step Brothers", I'll set aside my differences and say that I had a pretty good time watching this movie. Will Ferrell is such a funny guy and he proves so with his role in this movie. As for Wahlburg, imagine him as a more offbeat and active cop than the one he played in Martin Scorsese's "The Departed".Ferrell and Wahlburg are pretty much the movie's main saving grace.Replace them with people like Bruce Willis and Tracy Morgan and the result probably wouldn't be as funny.Good and funny movie that I recommend you check out.
