More like "Lamer".
The concept behind "Gamer" is that convicts are given a chance to go free if they let themselves be controlled by other people. In other words, people play an interactive video game where they're given a sim and they can control that person.Gerard Butler plays a convict who just wants to go home to get back to his wife and daughter. One day, he decides to get drunk so that he can't be fully controlled. He manages to break from his bond and tries to do anything he can to get back home.
What a great concept that is! It's a shame that the movie is a HUGE let-down.I wanted a hard-core and violent movie with good performances and even a decent story.Turns out that it's violent and nothing else.I enjoyed Gerard Butler in underrated movies like "The Ugly Truth" and "Law Abiding Citizen".He's a good actor and I will always think that, but there's no point in playing a character when you don't put enough depth and feeling into the character that your playing. What's even worse is that the cast is good but there was no point in putting them in the movie in the first place.Aaron Yoo from "Disturbia" should've read a better script for a better movie and I don't know why Allison Lohman from "Drag Me To Hell" is in this mess. Then there's the good rapper Ludacris. He was the wrong choice for his role and I say that with no sympathy. He just doesn't have the potential to be a good actor.Good rapper, not so good actor. There you have it."Gamer" was a massive let-down and even though it's 2010, I'm putting this movie on my list for worst movies of 2009.
