The Love Guru

Just because it's not great doesn't mean it isn't a little funny.
It doesn't come off as a surprise to me that a lot of people loathed "The Love Guru".This crude Mike Myers comedy is pretty much nothing else but 87 minutes of non-stop crude and slapstick humor.If I had to guess, I'd probably say that there's a sex-related joke every 30 seconds.That means this is an 87 minute movie with 174 uninspired jokes here.Talk about overboard.I can't call "The Love Guru" a good movie, but it did make me laugh in some parts.The best joke of the movie would probably be the line "If your Uncle Jack helped you off an elephant, would you help your Uncle Jack off an elephant?".Try saying it a couple of times if you don't get the joke.The scene where Mike Myers' character was attacked by a rooster had me laughing for some reason that I can't think of.It's funny, but it tries to desperatly to be funny in a crude and sexual kind of way.The humor simply goes off the walls and never stops and it gets kind of tiresome and even a little unfunny.That's what you get for being raised in a strip club with a toilet that doesn't flush.
How are the actors? Let's just say Mike Myers should stick to movies featuring green ogres and call it a night.I didn't hate or even dislike him, but it felt like I was watching "You Don't Mess With The Zohan" all over again.Jessica Alba gave a pretty great performance in "Machete", but this isn't exactly what I would call a great performance.She's definetly great to look at, that's for sure.You have some good actors with 10 boatloads of innappropriate humor and the result is simply mixed but not bad.I'm somewhat glad to say that "The Love Guru" made me laugh in some parts and that I didn't hate it like I thought it would.
There's another great line I forgot to mention."What is it you can't face?".Get it? Turn the letter 'a' in can't and turn it into a short 'a' and you'll get it.
