Robert Downey Jr. , thank you!

"Tropic Thunder" is unlike any war comedy you've ever seen. Most importantly, it's probably one of the best war comedies you'll ever see, thanks to some terrific performances by Ben Stiller, Jack Black, Brandon T. Jackson, Danny Mcbride, and the notorious Robert Downey Jr., who gives one of the best performances I have ever seen in any comedy.Watching this movie may just change your opinion about Downey, whether you like him or not, this movie will change your opinion. He's a great actor in general, and even his role in "Iron Man" can't live up to this! What makes this a rare performance that you don't get too often is the character that Downey is given. His character, Kirk Lazarus, an actor who has won 5 Academy awards, goes uder a surgery that pigments the color of his skin so he can play the role of an African American character. What follows is a non-stop parade of black impersonations and hilarious on-eliners that will surly have you rolling on the floor.I bet Adam Sandler wishes he could do that.

Ben Stiller has went and made a movie that not only pushes the boundries of film-making inside film-making but even the aspects of racism and war movie cliches.People who are of Asian-Vietnamese descent will probably be offeneded, but the cliches are hilarious! There are 2 scenes where a character is on his back saying "I can't movie" and "I can't feel my legs", and the scenes of a character running in slow-mo being shot at but trying to survive is spot on! The film works not only as a comedy, but even a war movie and surprisingly as an action flick! Hands down to the actors who do their job very well as actors trying to make the most expensive war movie never made, especially Jack Black for his character's stupidity and drug addiction. As for Tom Cruise, words are lost for how profane and energitic his character his.Same with Robert Downey Jr, you'll probably think different of Tom Cruise after the first viewing.
