Death at a Funeral

A mixed, but funny bag
You can't go wrong with the cast in "Death At a Funeral".It has Chris Brown, Tracy Morgan, Danny Glover, Martin Lawrence, and even Zoe Saldana from "Avatar".This is a black comedy that features a great number of funny actors that actually knows how to handle them.Chris Rock is great here and Danny Glover is hilarious but my favorite actor would probably have to be Tracy Morgan.I honestly thought he was funny in "Cop Out", despite the negativity the movie and it's actors got."Death at a Funeral" is a remake of a British movie that I have not seen.As a remake, I can't say if it's good or bad.As a comedy, it's pretty darn funny in some parts. As a gross out movie, it succeds. There's a scene where Danny Glover accidentaly sits on Tracy Morgan's hand on a toilet.Tracy Morgan yells "My hand is stuck" and pulls his hand from the toilet. The grossness of this scene made me look away several times even when I took just a one second glance at the screen.Even the audience yelled at the screen.I'm not exactly sure if it was out of laughter or disgust.Maybe it was both.As for me, it was more disgusting than funny.I did laugh and I do find crude and toilet humor funny, but that was just plain disgusting.I liked "Death At a Funeral", but it falls flat in some scenes where it gets back on it's feet in the next scene but falls down again. Most of the reviews claim that it's not as good as the original british film.As I've said, I can't compliment or argue with the remake battling out with the original. If I check it out, I'll review it.For now, the remake is a decent little comedy that made me laugh in some parts and it entertained me throughout, but not as quite as I wanted it to.
Grade: B-
